Painting Calculation for Walls

This application helps accurately estimate the amount of paint required for walls and ceilings, considering the dimensions of the space, the surfaces to be excluded (doors and windows), the number of coats, the coverage declared by the product, and a margin for waste and absorption. It is designed for private individuals, painters, and designers who want to plan purchases and work schedules reliably.

How it works

You can choose to enter the length, width, and height of the room (with the option to include the ceiling) or the already known total area. The app automatically calculates the paintable surface, subtracts the area of the doors and windows you specify, and multiplies by the number of required coats. Based on the coverage expressed in m² per litre, you get the necessary litres.

Waste and rounding

To manage unforeseen circumstances and differences in yield, you can set a waste percentage. The result shows both the exact litres and a rounded value up to the nearest tenth, simplifying the ordering of materials and preventing shortages during execution.

Recommended cans

If you enter the capacity of the can, the app estimates how many packages to purchase. This feature is useful for comparing different sizes (1 L, 2.5 L, 5 L, 14 L) and optimizing the budget by reducing waste and leftovers.

Clear and reusable results

The results appear in a dedicated container with all the details: wall area, any ceiling, subtracted openings, coats of paint, coverage, waste, and final litres. With one click, you can copy the summary and paste it into quotes, orders, or site reports.

Practical tips

For highly absorbent surfaces or particularly opaque/dark shades, consider an additional coat or increase the waste. Always check the yield specified on the product’s technical data sheet and respect the drying times between coats. In areas with many irregularities, protrusions, and niches, carry out an on-site inspection and measure carefully.

The calculated quantities are operational estimates. The actual yield depends on the conditions of the surface, application method (roller, brush, airless), temperature, and humidity. For high-quality work or non-standard situations, verification by a professional is recommended.
