Parquet and Flooring Calculator
This app helps you accurately estimate the amount of parquet or flooring to purchase. You can start with the dimensions of the room or directly enter the total area and apply a waste factor based on the chosen laying pattern. If you know the coverage per pack or the size of the planks, the app will also calculate the number of packs and, when possible, the necessary pieces.
How it works
Select the calculation method: “Room dimensions (m)” to specify length and width, or “Total area (m²)” if you already have the square footage. Choose the laying pattern and let the app automatically suggest an appropriate waste factor, or you can enter a custom value. By entering the m² per pack, you get the recommended number of packs; specifying the size of the planks and pieces per pack, the app derives the equivalent pieces and packs.
Waste based on the laying pattern
Waste varies with the layout: for straight laying, the typical waste is lower, while it increases with patterns like herringbone and chevron due to cuts and alignments. The application proposes indicative values that you can modify based on the project and site tolerances.
Clear and ready-to-use results
The results are presented neatly within a dedicated container: area of the room, laying pattern, applied waste, final square footage to order, estimated pieces (if plank dimensions are available), and recommended packs calculated both on m²/pack and on pieces/pack. With a click, you can copy the summary for quotes, orders, and material lists.
Practical tips
For irregular spaces, columns, or numerous cuts, increase the waste. Always check the m² indicated on the pack, any differences between nominal and actual measurements, and the manufacturer’s guidelines on expansion joints and laying. In case of underfloor heating, strictly follow the acclimatization cycles and technical specifications.
Warnings
The result is an operational estimate. Actual quantities may vary based on the substrate, alignments, dimensional tolerances, and laying pattern. For premium supplies or very irregular rooms, a check with detailed surveying and consultation with the installer is recommended.
