Tomato Harvest Quality Analyzer
The app Tomato Quality Analyzer is a tool designed for those who want to assess the agronomic and commercial quality of freshly harvested tomatoes 🍅.
It enables a quick analysis based on real parameters such as sugar content (Brix), color, fruit uniformity, flesh hardness, and defect percentage, providing an overall rating on a scale from 0 to 100 along with a detailed description of the harvest quality.
⚙️ How it works
Fill in the observed or measured parameters:
- 🌡️ Brix Degree – represents the sugar content and flavor intensity;
- 🎨 Average Color (1–10) – from light green to deep red;
- ⚠️ Defect Percentage (%) – damaged, bruised, moldy, or cracked fruits;
- 🔄 Harvest Uniformity (1–10) – dimensional and chromatic regularity of the sample;
- 🧱 Hardness / Texture (1–10) – measures resistance to pressure and durability during handling.
The app automatically assigns a weighted score based on the importance of each parameter and returns:
- An overall numerical value (0–100);
- A qualitative judgment: Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor;
- A brief interpretative comment with practical advice on using the harvest.
📊 Main Features
- Immediate analysis of physical and organoleptic quality;
- Calculation of the weighted average score based on the most influential parameters;
- Textual description with suggestions for commercial use;
- A notes field to add observations or lab data;
- “Copy Results” button to share or archive data 📋.
💡 Usage Example
A technician evaluates a sample with:
- Brix Degree: 6.8
- Average Color: 9
- Defects: 5%
- Uniformity: 8
- Hardness: 7
The app calculates a final score of about 83/100, with a judgment of Good quality:
the tomato is sweet and well-colored, with limited defects and a texture suitable for industrial processing or direct sale.
🚀 Operational Advantages
- Allows for standardizing field evaluations, making them comparable over time;
- Helps to monitor harvest quality by batch or plot;
- Supports commercial decisions on price, destination, and optimal harvesting;
- A useful tool for reports, quality controls, and technical documentation.
⚠️ Warnings
The app provides a guiding analysis, based on estimated or average parameters.
For official analyses (e.g., laboratory tests or certifications), it is necessary to use calibrated measuring tools and standardized protocols.
Data is not permanently stored: to keep it, use the “Copy Results” function or manually export it.
